 I Want You to Help...

...Put Jim in a White House

Jim White (55-year-old father of two sons, a daughter and grandfather of a 4-year-old grand son) lost his legs to Peripheral Degenerative Vascular Disease in January 2008.  He and his family cannot afford to build a house for themselves on the land they own.  He, wife Sherry and family currently live on Social Security Disability benefits, of which these days don’t go very far.

Their current home, a 50 plus year old trailer, has serious health and safety issues and most likely will not last though another winter.  The roof has many leaks, poorly insulated and is a fire hazard.  Because the family owns the land they currently reside on disqualifies Jim for programs such as Habitat for Humanity.  Simply stated, Jim and his family need a new home.

The Mat-Sue Home Builders Association has agreed to build a new home, but is in dire need of funding in the amount of approximately $100,000.00 for construction materials & furnishings.  Much of the labor is being donated.

May 3rd excavation work commenced on the foundation for the new home with some materials and labor being donated.  However, the project will stall unless additional funds are raised.
